There are many people who may have shifted to a new address or who have changed their mobile number. Some may wish to update their photos and some may be looking for corrections. So if you want to change your Aadhaar data like address, photo, mobile number and any other details, below is the step by step guide to help you do it:

How to update aadhaar photo online/offline? Step by Step Guide:

You should be aware that UIDAI does not allow people to update their photos online. For this you need to visit the Aadhaar Enrollment Center. Follow these steps to make your photo update hassle-free:

  • Visit the official website of UIDAI at uidai.gov.in.
  • Go to My Aadhaar section and look for downloads
  • From the Download section, download the Aadhaar Enrollment/Update Form
  • Fill your Aadhaar number and name. It is not necessary to fill in all the details. Place a tick on ‘Biometric Update’.
  • Attach a photocopy of your Aadhaar with it
  • Visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center, carry your original Aadhaar
  • Submit the form and required documents
  • The operator will click a new photo
  • Pay the required fee (Rs. 100 inclusive of GST) and receive your acknowledgment slip.
  • Your Aadhaar data will be updated within two weeks and you will receive a new Aadhaar at your registered address.

How to update address on your aadhaar card? Step by Step Guide:

This is one of the online services provided by UIDAI and you don’t need to visit the enrollment center to change your address. All you need is a valid address proof which can be your voter ID, gas/electricity/water bill, passport or any other document listed on UIDAI’s website.

  • Visit UIDAI’s website uidai.gov.in.
  • Go to ‘My Aadhaar’ tab.
  • Click on ‘Update Demographics Data and Check Status’
  • A new window will open asking you to login.
  • Click on login and enter your Aadhaar number as well as security captcha as shown
  • Click on Send OTP to get the OTP on your registered mobile number.
  • After you login using OTP verification go to ‘Update Demographics Data’ option.
  • Now click on ‘Name/Gender/Date of Birth & Address Update’
  • Then click on Update Aadhaar Online (first option in the row)
  • Then click on ‘Proceed to Aadhaar Update’ option at the bottom
  • Now click on the address option in the list of four available options; The first three are – name, date of birth, gender and the fourth is address.
  • After clicking on Address click on Proceed to Update Aadhaar
  • Now, the page will show your old address, below that, you have to enter your new address
  • After entering your new address, select Supporting Documents from the drop-down menu
  • Then click on ‘View Details and Upload Document’ option
  • Then click on Next
  • Pay the required amount.
  • Then click on OTP verification, enter the OTP received on your mobile number
  • Submit and complete OTP to verify and generate acknowledgment receipt. Your data will be updated within two weeks.

Just like your photo, you cannot update your mobile number online. For this you need to visit the Aadhaar Enrollment Center. Follow these steps to make your photo update hassle-free:

  • Visit the official website of UIDAI at uidai.gov.in.
  • Go to My Aadhaar section and look for downloads
  • From the Download section, download the Aadhaar Enrollment/Update Form
  • Fill in your Aadhaar number, name and the new mobile number you want to link with Aadhaar. Put a tick in the ‘Mobile’ option.
  • It is not necessary to fill in all the details. Attach a photocopy of your Aadhaar with it.
  • Visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center, carry your original Aadhaar
  • Submit the form and required documents
  • The operator will update the details in the system.
  • Pay the required fee (Rs. 50 including GST) and receive your acknowledgment slip.
  • Your Aadhaar data will be updated within two weeks and you will receive a new Aadhaar at your registered address.
