Ludhiana, January 30
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Surabhi Malik on Monday appealed to members of the public to update their Aadhaar card details by submitting latest proof of address and identification at the nearest Aadhaar Registration Centre.
Ludhiana is one of the 40 districts that the central government has selected as a pilot to update files in the Aadhaar card.
Residents will need to re-verify their information by submitting required documentation, even if their demographics have not changed, she said. Residents can use this service online by logging on to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ if the mobile number is registered with Aadhaar.
Meanwhile, Jagraon Additional Deputy Director Major Amit Sareen said officials from banks, post offices, BSNL, program offices, Sewa Kendras, education ministry and other agencies must inform people to update their details in aadhar. He said that UIDAI has introduced a new feature of document update in Aadhaar through the document update feature in the portal.
He said the document update function can be accessed online through the myAadhaar portal or any Aadhaar registration centre. Residents who registered for Aadhaar eight to 10 years ago (before 2015) had to update their documents, he said.
Major Sareen added that special camps will be organized in villages, schools and anganwari centers to quickly reach the under-18 population in this effort. He said a total of 223 Aadhaar kits are available in the area, apart from 26 post offices and 40 Sewa Kendras where people can register for Aadhaar cards.
He also highlighted proper awareness of the camp to ensure more people benefit from the process.
