On Monday, Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik appealed to members of the public to update their Aadhaar card details by submitting latest proof of address and identification at the nearest Aadhaar registration centre.
Ludhiana is one of the 40 pilot districts that the Center has selected for Aadhaar card file renewal.
‘The government introduced Aadhaar almost 12 years ago. Many citizens have changed their addresses and updated their Aadhaar cards over the years, however, there are still some who have not done so; therefore, we urge all residents to upload their documents as Aadhaar is being used everywhere and keep it updated Very important,” DC said.
Taking it a step further, she added that residents will need to re-verify their information by submitting the required documents, even if their demographics have not changed.
Residents can use this service online by logging on to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ if the mobile number is registered with Aadhaar.
Jagraon deputy commissioner Amit Sareen said officials of banks, post offices, BSNL, program offices, sewa kendras and other agencies must inform people to update their details in Aadhar.
“UIDAI has introduced a new feature of document update in Aadhaar through the document update feature, which can be accessed online through the myAadhaar portal or any Aadhaar registry,” he added.

Special camps will be organized in villages, schools and Anganwari Centers (AWC) so that the under 18 population can be quickly covered in this update.
Apart from 26 post offices and 40 Sewa Kendras, a total of 223 Aadhaar kits are available in the area where people can easily register for Aadhaar card renewal.
Meanwhile, Sareen also directed officials to plan the camps in such a way that people can easily make Aadhaar cards. He also highlighted proper awareness of the camps to ensure more people benefit.
