Find out what documents are needed for Aadhaar card – Useful information for those applying for a new Aadhaar card
If you have planned to apply for aadhaar card, you must know about the documents required to apply. The application form is obviously a must but you need a few other documents such as proof of identity as well as proof of address. In this post, I will explain all such documents that are accepted as valid proof while applying for an Aadhaar card.
What are POA, POI & POR Documents:
You might notice that the terms POA and POI will be used for documents required for Aadhaar card application. If you are confused about these terms don’t worry.
POA – Proof of Address, POI – Proof of Identity, POR -Proof of Relationship. An individual’s documents can be classified into three types. The documents that are considered as valid proof of address are considered POA(Proof of Address) Documents while the ones that are considered as valid proof of identity of any person are considered POI(Documents). The documents which are required to prove your relationship with any of your family members are called POR(Proof of Relationship)

Important – Where there are no documents available, residents may also take the help of Introducers available at the enrolment center. The Introducers are notified by the Registrar. For further details please contact the office of the concerned Registrar.

You need to fill in the Aadhaar card enrollment application form and attach the photocopy of Proof of Address, and Proof of Identity documents. If required you might also need to attach the Xerox copy of the Proof of Relationship document.
