Aadhaar Card Status – Aadhaar Status Inquiry


Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) allows registered citizens to check their status online or by sending SMS, if you don’t have internet access. Users can check their status by providing their enrollment number, date and time.

What information do you need to check your Aadhaar status?

You will need Enrollment ID to check status online. On the top of your acknowledgment slip, you can find the 14-digit enrollment number and the 14-digit date and time. These are 28 digits in total, which constitute your Temporary Enrollment ID (EID).

If you can’t find your Enrollment ID, you can see the image below. 14 digit enrollment number and 14 digit date are highlighted in red. By combining these you will generate 28 digit EID.

How to check your Aadhaar status online?

  1. Enter your 14 digit enrollment ID or 28 digit enrollment ID with date time stamp. You can find this ID on your acknowledgment slip.
  2. Enter the security code that you will find above the submit button. It’s to verify that you’re a human, not a computer program scanning data.
  3. Click on submit button.

How to check Aadhaar status by sending SMS?

Now you can also check Aadhaar status by sending SMS from your registered mobile number.

SMS “UID STATUS” (ie UID STATUS 12345678901234) to 51969.

If your aadhaar is generated and SMS is sent from registered mobile then you will get aadhaar number.

If not, you will get the current status of Aadhaar.
